I came across your website while searching information on William and Catherine Bouche(r).  It sounds as if there is a great bit of history, of which I am unaware.  (I am afraid I come from a place of zero, in that I've never before even heard the term "Metis.")  I look forward to reading your website in detail.

I am a descendant of Jean Adrien Hayot and Louise Peltier - the daughter of Nicolas Peltier and Jeanne de Voisy and am a Metis.  I am very proud of my heritage.
