I want to thank you for the impressive research on your family
genealogy!

I just happened on your web site and am sooooooooo impressed.
You have done so much research and have used great 'choice' words
to describe the people, the environment...ect...
Congratulations on a job well done.

I was reading your site and thought I would say hello. We're sailing from
Churchill, Manitoba to Iceland in 2013 to search for signs of Norse
presence in the Arctic.

I
love Canadian history.
My goal is to write an epic novel spanning the growth of Canada up to the
mid-1800’s.
In all of my research I have noticed that the French names that were used are
all very similar; there are a lot of Marie’s, Marguerite’s, etc.
Because
one name was used so often, how were these people addressed when there were so
many with the same name?
I have been so curious about this and hope that you have the answer.

It is with great
appreciation that I send this email!!!
You have opened the doors
to my Metis roots better and faster than anyone-------and much more than l could
have achieved myself. I am 71 this year retired form Teaching. For
ten years I have been trying to piece together my roots in New France. I was
beginning to believe that this would never happen. Age is creeping up on me!
I have recently locked
horns with Dominique Ritchot about Anne Archambault. I didn't know, from
corresponding with her in the past years, how incredibly biased she is
against the Metis people. I believe as you do that Anne is Metis and I have
a pretty good argument about the details of 1620-30 and why no one can find
birth records for her, as well as her mother and two sisters.

My name is Trevor Pemberton I am looking into my family history and
found out that we are metis!
I was trying to prove the connection because up till this point it was a
family myth.
How do I prove it with documentation? Here is the part from your website.

What I meant to say is that if I had not come across all the information in
your website, I wouldn't have found out as much as I have.
Thanks to you and your wealth of information
