The technicians strike is over at the CBC. A tentative agreement reached March31, 1999 was accepted by the membership across Canada – ending the six-week strike by 2,000 Communications, Energy and Paperworkers’ (CEP) union members.

Gail Lem, National Vice-President, Media for CEP was enthusiastic about the agreement. "We are delighted to have finally reached a fair and equitable settlement with the BC," she said.
