The Boat

"A small vessel", said Voss. "What better than a canoe? " And so it was they purchased a 38 foot dugout canoe, for $80 dollars of silver and a drop out of a flask labelled "Old Rye", from an old "Siwash" woman. This Pacific Coast Indian canoe was built in the early 1800's and was already an old relic. The canoe was made out of one solid red cedar log, a proper "dugout" used by Indians for travelling about. The boat was named the "Tilikum", an Indian name meaning, "friend".
