Shadow Rain

Shadow rain only falls in places that normal rain would miss; in what would otherwise be shelter. Under parked cars; under umbrellas; inside buildings.

The first fall of shadow rain wreaked havoc in a world relying heavily on electronics and paper. It took a long time until people were sure that shadow rain had supplanted real rain, and then they hastened to remove roofs and make sure that things were as exposed to the air as possible.

Or perhaps it was a rain of dryness, combating the natural tendency of water to be spontaneously generated. No one was quite sure, but where else was the water coming from?

Showers became a lot easier to make, though.
