CREATING
YOUR OWN WEB SITE
So now that you've seen all those web pages you begin to wonder: How can I create my own web page?
Well the answer is not that simple, but is not impossible.
These are some common elements on a Web Page:
ELEMENTS |
FUNCTION |
| Page Title | Appears in the browser tittle bar. Many search engines index pages based on the words in the page title. |
| Headings | Break the page into sections, which adds organization and visual interest. Headings range from size 6, the smallest, to size 1, the largest. |
| Text | The text on a Web page is the "meat" because generally it provides the information. |
| Graphics | Pictures tell a story. Graphics images on the page need to be added separately. Some designers add graphics images to the background of a page |
| Hyperlinks | Hyperlinks on a Web page provide jumps to other locations. Each link is actually made up of two parts. The anchor, which is the portion you click, is usually text but can be a graphic. The URL portion shows the location to which the user moves when the anchor is clicked |
| Contact Information | Most pages display the name and e-mail address of the page owner. |
