Well folks it's been a great eight year bus ride, but this tour has finally come to an end.
I initially built this website eight years ago as a tribute to Hoyt Axton and to share my love of his music with anyone who would visit the website. As it unfolded, I also had high hopes it might eventually catch his eye. I did eventually get the attention of Hoyt. It was an exciting time for me and I really felt my dream was going to come true. I was fortunate enough to receive two signed and sealed albums from Hoyt's own collection, from Hoyt, for my work on the website and as a token of Hoyt's appreciation. I also received the benefit of trust from Hoyt and his family by way of phone calls and other information they shared with me before, and after Hoyt's passing. I just fell a little short on riding in that tour bus with Hoyt--but I will be forever grateful for Hoyt's kind gestures and his daughter and sons kind words and inspiration. When I started this website, the web world was quite small. It might be just coincidence, but once I launched the Hoyt Axton Explodes website, the internet itself appeared to explode and, like Hoyt, appeared to be larger than life. Now you can find information on Hoyt in every corner of the vastly expanding universe of the internet--I think that's GREAT! You can never have enough Hoyt! I would have never believed it before now, but recently I have found that websites, even like the best of friendships and dreams, just have their time. With that said, I believe it's time to retire the Hoyt Axton Explodes website. I hope I've helped in spreading the good song of Hoyt, and I hope the other sites out there keep on pumping out the Hoyt information and trivia--it's a wonderful tribute to an incredible person, and personality. I'm going to leave my main web page up for a little while, and let this sink in. This isn't a decision I made lightly and have thought about it over the summer before pulling down most of the site. Take care everyone, and never be afraid to admit that you; are a Hoytaholic!
