Explanations

This page is meant to clear some things up about the Scripting Additions, why they are needed, and who exactly needs them. I hope it will be useful.

What are Scripting Additions for?

Scripting Additions or "Osaxen / Osax" are small system patches that give Apple Script extra functions. There is a multitude of different Scripting Additions and functions that they provide.

How do I install them?

See the Help Page

How do I unistall them?

See the Help Page

What programs need extra Scripting Additions?

Basically all the programs need one or another Scripting Addition, except the Virii Dialogs, the How To Tutorials, the Joke INITS, and the Beeps.

The Password Protection programs need the Shutdown Control and Speech to run well. The File/Folder Security programs need the File input/Output, Speech, and File Visibility/Invisibility. The programs for the Deletion of Files/Folders will require the File Input/Output Addition. The Keystroke Recorder Trasher needs the File Input/Output Addition to run the best, and the Restart Finder/Computer programs need the File Input/Output, and Shutdown Additions.
