What are Arachne APX?

They are external Arachne plug-ins that can be installed anywhere, including a different drive.

Arachne APX require the installation of Xapm to install and use them from Arachne.

Arachne APX apm's "may" be installed on various drives or directories but only one drive and path will be valid at any given time. If you have installations on different drives or different dirctories is is advisable to keep a "holist" file for you to remember the possible path variables that you would like to set or change using the xpath.htm page that comes with Xapm.apm.

At this time, Jan 19, 2006 there are 2 Arachne APX test packages located at Reset00.com

  Arachne APX --- the external Arachne APMs.

Arachne ApxDesk (28194 bytes) external desktop for all Arachne APX packages.

• All APX packages will work well without ApxDesk but the Arachne APX Desktop looks nicer and links from/to Arachne home.htm page

Includes:

• XapmInit.apm (a Desktop version of XAPM.APM and part of Deskinit.apx)
• Deskinit.apx will:
  1. give an option to auto-start ApxDesk and related APX packages on each startup.
  2. give an option to easily start the APX Desktop after Arachne starts.
  3. ensure that an icon and a link to the APX Desktop appear at the bottom of home.htm page (and save of copy of old home.htm as home.ara).
  4. 'remember' the APX installation directory for any Arachne install.
