Jeanette Wormald

Jeanette Wormald is one of a new breed of Australian singer/songwriters who reflects what it's like to be Australian without having to draw the  music in the past.  She was born in 1965, and raised in the small rural community of Mount Compass near South Australia's capital of Adelaide.  Jeanette's music reflects all the elements of living on the land.  The hot sun, the wide blue sky, the hard bush life & the often-unacknowledged Aboriginal heritage.  Music & a rural life prevailed with Jeanette when she married a farmer and moved to a farm in low rainfall country known as the Northern Mallee several hundred kilometres from Adelaide.  The Mallee is a drought-resistant eucalyptus tree and could also be a symbol of the characters of Australian men & women who farm much of the semi-arid farmlands of South Australia.

In recent years Jeanette's career has blossomed, thanks to regular touring & the production of a number of highly acclaimed recordings which have shown the Australian music industry that hers is a unique talent : an ability to write great songs but also a special affinity with audiences of all ages when she presents her show-stopping concerts with just a guitar, a swag of stories, and bell-clear songs that enthrall everyone who listens.  Listen for the Jeanette Wormald on Radio Nagasaki soon.  In the meantime, visit her website to find out more about here new OPAL BLUE CD.
