The late Dennis Pavao
(1951-2002) first came into the public eye as a teenager in the early 1970’s
when he formed the legendary Island trio, Hui Ohana,
along with his cousins, Nedward and Ledward Ka`apana. Dennis was
instrumental in the renewed popularity of the male falsetto voice (known in
Hawaiian as ka leo ki`eki`e).
After the breakup of the group, Pavao continued to
