Now, for a little about us…...

I fell in love with the Rottweiler so many years ago, the beautiful structure, ominous strength, and that kind loving face. In my opinion, there is nothing more stunning than a well-bred, well built, muscular Rottweiler with character and temperament to die for. It took me a long time before I actually bought my first one, a few years of research on the breed characteristics, health issues and different types being bred by the many qualified breeders out there. Finally 9 months and 10 days after Danny and I were married, Neil and Loraine Jesse of Rothburg Rottweilers handed us our bundle of joy and my SOUL DOG, Caemon.

Our lives have changed so much since Caemon arrived. He has introduced me to the world of dog sport, and dog shows. We show in conformation, trial in obedience, have tried flyball, (he was so fast we had to quit. When a 115lb rottie is beating the Border Collies down the line…..). We compete in drafting, carting, tracking, obedience, conformation, agility and in 2004 will be going after the illustrious Sch I title. More about Caemon on his page.

We belong to the Canadian Kennel Club and the Rottweiler Club of Canada as well as the American Rottweiler Club. We are Code of Ethics breeders and will only breed dogs that are sound and healthy. Our dogs are hip scored with the British Veterinary Association and the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals and are tested for heart and eye diseases, and hip and elbow dysplasia. Our dogs will only be bred to other dogs and bitches of merit that have also passed all of these tests, and have attained at least a Championship title.

Our second Rottie joined our family after a long year of research and searching. I finally found the perfect woman who breeds magnificent dogs, and is ethical beyond ethical. Linda Draper of Eternal Moon Kennel in Virginia Beach, Virginia. You have never seen dogs move until you see her Java!! Her dogs are treated as family members, trained in obedience, conformation, drafting, weight pulling and racing golf carts! Her dogs are also blood donors, and have the to die for temperaments that I was looking for. So….after many a conversation, many emails, begging, pleading, deal making and groveling, Kenya came into our lives.
She is everything I wanted and more. Tons of substance, tons of bone, great markings, impeccable movement and unbelievable drive!! Made to order. I don’t know how she did it, but everything I wanted came to us in a 14lb, 8 week old, black and tan package. She makes us laugh everyday with her silly antics and courageous heart. There is nothing this little bombshell won’t try and excel at. At 7months old she became a Canadian Champion!! More about Kenya on her page.

As far as we are concerned, no matter how much we have learned, there are still libraries of information to take in. We look to other knowledgeable breeders and fanciers to help us with questions and concerns. I have met so many wonderful people who have unselfishly helped me out in these first years. Kim Zippel, Pauline Baldwin, Loraine Jesse, Larry Clark,  Donna Slownoski, Tammy Hill, Linda Draper, Ann Felske-Jackman and Debbie Cornell-Charneski to name a few, but believe me there are so many more. There are so many breeders out there that I admire, breeders who know the histories of lines, health issues, and what dogs produce what characteristics. Why wouldn’t we go to them with questions? Isn’t that the point, or at least it should be. Breeders helping breeders to better this magnificent breed, the Rottweiler.
