There was one puppy in the Caemon and Star
litter that stood out from about 2.5 weeks. It wasn’t because she was the
biggest, though she was, it wasn’t because she was the prettiest (although she
has always been a beautiful puppy), it was
because she had attached herself wholly and completely to my 2 year old
daughter Isabella. Anytime Isabella was in the whelping box or anytime the
pups were running all over my living room, this puppy was there. Always. The
whole litter could be playing away and Isabella would come into the room and
Kat would be gone, even trucking across the living room and down our long hall
(about 50 steps) to follow her. This, on top of her working evaluation and
conformation, made it very hard for me to let her go, and I didn’t, not for 5
months!! To describe this puppy I was going to register her as EternalFire’s
Flip Flop and Fly, she was crazy….and needed an experienced home who was going
to work her and show her or I was going to keep her myself. Ok with me…not ok
with my husband!!

Kat's most recent win, October 2006 with 'mom' Simone handling
Fate stepped in and when she was 5 months old I
received an interesting email from a very successful Quarter horse breeder in
Edmonton. I was so reluctant to let her go that I didn’t tell her about Kat
to begin with. But as you can see, Simone won me over and within a week, Kat
was hers. She actually drove down to Calgary the next day to meet Kat and her
family.

Since taking Kat home, Simone has joined the
Edmonton Schutzhund club, obtained Kat’s CGN and in June 2007, earned Kat's BH
title. There are plans for her CD title as well for early spring. She also placed VSP1 at the Calgary Sieger show. Like
Arson, this puppy has a hold on me, but I know that this is where she is
supposed to be.

Simone refers to buying stuff for her as Kat
Shopping and believe me, she does enough of it.
In 4 days of showing this fall Kat has obtained
9 points toward her Championship!! Two points with me and 7 with her mom,
Simone. Although Simone has not shown dogs before, she is a natural and her
and Kat make a very harmonious team.
Kat finished her Canadian championship
November 2006 at the Red Deer dog show going Winners Bitch and Best Puppy in
Breed both Saturday and Sunday!!!
June
2007, at the Edmonton German Shepherd Dog Club schutzhund trial, Kat
earned her BH title with flying colors with owner/handler 'Momma' Simone at the
end of the lead.

Here are Kat and
Simone hard at work towards their BH title.
Kat and Simone earned their TR1 tracking
title in October 2007 in Edmonton, Alberta at the age of 21 months.
This team is working hard and accomplishing so much, we are so proud of
them!
I expect great things from this team, and am
soo proud of what they have accomplished so far.
