"My earliest recollection of what a beef carcass looked
like dates back to January 1970, in a small packing plant in Moncton, New Brunswick.
I was a student working in the cooler, recording grading information for the
government grader. A typical day of 40 carcasses graded would be 1 Choice, 2 Good
and 37 Standard grades. (My, how times have changed!)" "I started my career with Agriculture Canada in 1974 as a Meat Inspector and in 1982 became involved in Livestock grading and have always enjoyed the challenges of the job. I joined the CBGA team when grading became privatized in 1996 and I am very pleased with the level of service we have maintained as well as all the other accomplishments to date." "My responsibility in the Atlantic Region is program delivery at our largest plant in Moncton, as well as regional supervision of six smaller plants in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. The beef producers in our region face some very unique challenges and are commended for their hard work and dedication for producing quality carcasses in an ever-changing industry. Keep up the good work. It's a matter of survival." Contact numbers: |
