1. How the project went (from your perspective).
I think the project went very well. The students engaged in a lot of activities that made them think and enhanced their writing skills. They were able to communicate and collaborate with other students around the city too which they found to be very motivational.


2. The impact of this project on your student's learning, include comments on the impact of using the Internet and Information and communications Technologies.
The students engaged in a lot of activities that made them think and enhanced their writing skills. They opportunity to communicate and collaborate through technology with other students around the city was very motivational.

Students also learned a lot of word processing skills as part of the project, and they learned how technology can facilitate and make communication more easy.


3. Describe what curriculum outcomes/expectations were achieved and/or not achieved and why.

The following outcomes were met as part of the project:
C.1 - Students will access, use and communicate information from a variety of technologies.

Specific Outcomes

2.1 access and retrieve appropriate information from the Internet by using a specific search path or from given uniform resource locations (URLs)

2.2 organize information gathered from the Internet, or an electronic source, by selecting and recording the data in logical files or categories; and by communicating effectively, through appropriate forms, such as speeches, reports and multimedia presentations, applying information technologies that serve particular audiences and purposes

C.5 - Students will use technology to aid collaboration during inquiry.

2.1 retrieve data from available storage devices, such as a shared folder, to which a group has contributed

2.2 record group brainstorming, planning and sharing of ideas by using technology

2.1 create and revise original text to communicate and demonstrate understanding of forms and techniques

2.2 edit and format text to clarify and enhance meaning, using such word processing features as the thesaurus, find/change, text alignment, font size and font style

2.3 convert digital text files by opening and saving them as different file types

2.2 vary font size and font style, and placement of text and graphics, in order to create a certain visual effect

Students will listen, speak, read, write, view and represent to enhance the clarity and artistry of communication.

Specific Outcome Appraise own and others' work

· develop criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of oral, print and other media texts

· use developed criteria to provide feedback to others and to revise own work

· Students use an established checklist to revise an advertisement for a school play.

· apply word processing skills and use publishing programs to organize information



General Outcome 5

Students will listen, speak, read, write, view and represent to respect, support and collaborate with others.

5.1 Respect Others and Strengthen Community

· compare own and others' responses to ideas and experiences related to oral, print and other media texts

5.2 Work Within a Group

· show appreciation for the contributions of others, and offer constructive feedback to group members




5. In what ways did students work together both during the project and in creating the website?
Studetns worked together when developing the prompts and collaborating online. They gave each other feed back online, and they worked together to develope the class' websites for the project.

I have also sent messages from the message board.

I have also provided us with the essential working tool- the Message Board.



7. Please share some of your student's thoughts on this project.(this is important)
The students said that they thought the project was fun. It was not as hard as they thought it was going to be. They really liked being able to post their work on web pages, and they said that they liked being able to read and respond to other students easily through the use of the messaging board.
