| Convince Santa that he should live in Edmonton instead of the North Pole December 17, 2003 Dear Santa, I want you to move to Edmonton. Please Santa, do you get it. Santa, I will tell you reasons why you should move to Edmonton. First reason is you don’t have to make toys. Second reason is you can drive not walk. There are fake Santas working for you. Fourth reason is you don’t have to cook food. Fifth one is in Summer it is fun. Please Santa, I want you to move to Edmonton. Well, number one it’s a beautiful place, two you would get more letters from people which you would love, three you would be warm in the summer, four everyone loves you, five you love them six, you would never have to see the Grinch again! Seven you would love to see kids coming up to you to hug you, eight there is lots of animals here like you could own a dog, nine you would love to eat at someone’s house on Christmas eve and day, ten you would love t be a special guest a t a school eleven you would love to see a play with you in it, twelve in fall you can have fun in the leaves, thirteen in Spring there is lots of lovely flowers, fourteen in summer you can go to the pool fifteen also in summer you can eat a lot of ice cream, sixteen there are lots of good clothes for Christmas, seventeen people will give you presents, eighteen people write books about you, nineteen people might name stuff after you, twenty kids believe in you, twenty-one, people are nice to you, twenty-two people might make a dance after you, twenty-three babies will admire you, twenty-four people might study you, twenty-five you might be on a show, twenty-six you’re a nice man, twenty-seven, people like reindeer, twenty-eight kids might dress like you, twenty-nine we could have a Santa parade, thirty everyone might make an action figure, thirty-one we promise we will make a club after you. | Date: Dec 17, 2003 Convince Santa that He Should live in Edmonton Instead of at the North Pole (Opening Statement) Santa, I would like to invite you to live in Edmonton and I would like to convince you that Edmonton is a better place to live than at the North Pole. Santa, I know you have 6 months of daylight and 6 months of darkness in the North Pole. Here in Edmonton, we have at least eight hours of daylight every day, even in the winter. We do not have total darkness here at all throughout the year. Think of what you can achieve when you can spend all the hours of daylight throughout the year. Summer is specially nice in Edmonton, sometimes we have daylight lasting to ten or eleven o’clock at night in the summer. Edmonton is beautiful in the summer. Santa, you will love it if you were here. In the summer, you can play soccer the whole day, up to even ten at night. You can go for walks in our beautiful river valley. You can go swimming, play tennis, basket ball and do all the outdoor sports. In the fall, you can walk around our gorgeous river valley with the red and yellow colours all around you. We have, in Edmonton, the best trails for hiking in the world. You can see squirrels and wild life around you when you go hiking. Santa, you won’t regret it if you live in Edmonton in the fall. In the Winter, you can play indoor sports, you can join one of the health spas and we have lots of them. You can go skiing and play squash. You will love it here in Edmonton. If you want to shop for the boys and girls to get ready for Christmas, we have one of the largest shopping malls in the world, it is called the West Edmonton Mall. I bet you Mrs. Claus and the elves would love it here in Edmonton, just for the shopping. You could do shopping all year around in Edmonton. Santa, if you miss the cold and snow in the North Pole, we have plenty of snow and cold in Edmonton. You won’t even notice the difference. (Closing statement) Santa, we love you and we would like to see you all year round in Edmonton, please consider taking up residence in Edmonton, Alberta for the whole year.
