Vulcan County Adult Learning Council is a non-profit organization partially funded by the Community Programs Branch of Alberta
Advanced Education and Technology, Community Programs. The council offers courses at various locations throughout Vulcan County including Vulcan, Arrowwood, Carmangay, Champion, Lomond, Milo, and Mossleigh (see our current calendar or visit the course page on this website). The Council office is located at 102 Centre St., Vulcan, Alberta, Canada (Vulcan County office).
In 2008, we celebrated 35 years of providing adult learning opportunities.Also at this location is our Learning & Career Resource Center which can provide you with continuing education, career and employment information and assistance. The Write Break Literacy Project, also located at 102 Centre St., Vulcan, sponsors literacy programs for people of all ages, including children. Council membership consists of volunteer representatives from communities throughout Vulcan County and representatives from local agencies and organizations involved in adult lifelong learning. The Council employs an adult learning coordinator and an administrative assistant, both on a part-time basis. For additional projects, we sometimes employ project coordinators. Vulcan County is the legal host for the Council. |
