- NEWS
- Provided all the pictures related to award winning news story obtained by gaining the confidence of neighborhood residents to view a crime scene.
- Named as a member of the coverage team to provide a six-part story and photos for the delivery of $5 million in antibiotics to the needy Ukraine children, which resulted in an "Edward Dunlop Special Citation" for the photography.
- Acquired exclusive photos of a major story that were reproduced on four local television news hours bringing recognition to my employer.
- Brought international recognition to employer by tracking and capturing exclusive photos of a famous Royal family.
- SPORTS
- Chosen to help provide coverage of 1999 Pan American Games for sister newspaper in Winnipeg.
- Awarded Canadian Press' "Sports Picture of the Month" for a Calgary Flames action shot taken during off hours.
- Outshone dozens of competing photographers in acquiring shot of Mark Messier with Stanley Cup.
- FEATURE
- Worked extra hours for several days to provide cover photo for book on the 1999 PanAmerican Games in Winnipeg.
- Responded under extra pressure to provide a photo of a boy on ski hill that garnered a Canadian Press "Feature Picture of the Month".
- ENTERTAINMENT
- Captured exclusive pictures of a famous movie and TV star and was approached to sell them to a large US based national newspaper.
- Selected to have personal audience with famous singer prior to concert that resulted in eye-catching front page that met tight deadline.
- PORTRAIT
- Achieved internal recognition for providing the most often selected portraits featured in the local daily publication and national calendar editions.
- Chosen to photograph Sophia Loren on her visit to Calgary for a full page color feature in the company publication.
- Provided portraits of Alberta Premiers, Peter Lougheed and Ralph Klein, that were published repeatedly as file photos.
- Teamed up with feature writer to provide daring portrait of local radio personality that resulted in much publicity on radio for publication.
- FASHION
- Worked in concert with fashion writer to produce award winning photo illustrating story on bracelets.
- Initiated eye-catching fashion spread on swimsuits and that took several hours of photoshop work in off hours at home.
