ULTIMATE V2.0
DOCUMENTATION -- STEVE ABSON 07/95
What does this thing do?
This program modifies an existing saved game character file from the ONE
MUST FALL: 2097 game by Diversions Entertainment and Epic MegaGames. It
changes the file specified so that the character becomes "maxxed" out. In
other words, you get full power levels, pilot attributes, tons of money, and
many of the HARs have enhancements. Remember, this only works for the
tournament mode of the game, so don't expect it to give you a powerful
character all of the time.
Okay, so how do I use it?
It's very simple. Just type "ULTIMATE [filename]" where [filename] is the
name of your saved game character. REMEMBER TO USE THE '.CHR' EXTENSION!
Now your character is maxxed out and ready to kick 'bot butt!
What kind of history does Ultimate have?
I'm glad you asked.
Version 1.0
- released 01/95 under alias "The Inquisitor"
Version 1.5

- added documentation
Version 2.0

- updated file handling to manage OMF v2.0 files
- minor cosmetic change (it's text so... no biggie)
What exactly is "ONE MUST FALL: 2097"?
Here's how the game's co-creator (Ryan Elam) summed it up in the foreword
from the manual (used without permission):
This is, basically, a fighting game. It is YEARS in the making, and is the
best effort of Rob Elam (the dude who does everything), Ryan Elam (the
older brother who can't wait to mooch off Rob's success), Josh Jensen
(sound code - assembler wizard), Kenny Chou (music master) and many
more. See the credits below. It has many features not found in any other
fighting game. One Must Fall 2097 is a great way to relieve stress, improve
hand-eye coordination, or just generally waste enormous amounts of time.
This really is a great fighting game in the style of SF2, and MK but which
definitely dominates the PC area in great gameplay, audio, and graphics.
The only real way to find out exactly what anyone means when they talk about
OMF:2097 is to get a copy and play it for yourself.
With version 2.0 now available, OMF can now be played over serial link,
modem (against another player or on a BBS), or over an IPX network!
Cool. Where can I get "ONE MUST FALL: 2097"?
Well, odds are that if you downloaded this character maxxer that you already
have OMF:2097, or are planning on getting it soon. But, if you happen to
have missed out on this game so far, here are a few places you can pick it
up:
It's available on
FTP.UML.EDU
[FTP] (Epic's home FTP site), on Exec-PC BBS
(414-789-4210 [2400] or 414-789-4360 [14.4k]), or on Subway's BBS (804-220-1759).
Also check out
FTP.EPICGAMES.COM
[FTP], Epic's very own FTP site. You can also catch
them on the World Wide Web at
HTTP://WWW.EPICGAMES.COM
[WWW]!
I like this utility so much, I'd like to send a donation!
That's really nice of you, but I'd much rather see your money go towards
registering ONE MUST FALL: 2097 and continuing to support it! There are
already some great OMF related things coming up like a CD-Rom version
which will probably contain new HARs, music, and Stages (details are sketchy
right now as the CD-Rom version is still in the development stage).
