This is a selection of photographs relating to the family of Joseph Anton Krahulec, of Waskatenau (pronounced Wa-SET-na), Alberta, Canada.

Joe's parents Joseph Krahulec and Tena Stursa were from Czechoslovakia ("Bohemia", Joe always said). They were married in 1889 in Owatonna, Minnesota, USA.

Joe was born December 25, 1889 in Fargo, North Dakota, USA, and also lived in the Rice Lake area of Barron County, Wisconsin. As a young man, Joe herded sheep in Montana and homesteaded near Smoky Lake, in Alberta. In 1918, he married Selma Hakli (from Finland) in St. Faith's Lutheran Church, in Edmonton (?), Alberta.

Note: This page was intentionally designed to include all photographs in one place. The tradeoff is that yes, it takes longer to come up on your screen. For easier printing of individual images, there is a link after each image: You can click on that link to go to a printable page of that one particular image.
