The Sumarian people strived for independence, by creating their own King-Gods, however
to maintain control it was necessary to develop a cast system,
by introducing slavery and by marginalizing women.
It is believed that slavery evolved from apprenticeship
to indentureship for a set period of time,
to slavery for life.
This philosophy would repeat itself time and time again.
Their ancestors had recognized the need not for independence but interdependence.
To feed the caste system it is necessary to go to war to obtain slaves.
