Dear Dad,

I though it best to write instead of cable. You see it takes practically as long for the cable to come across because of the date of arrival.

We had a very smooth crossing in one of the biggest ships in the world.

On my arrival England seemed to be very nice. Everything seems so green, the trees are green and the flowers are coming up. I really like England. I went to church and was really thrilled at the ancient stone structures. The thing that appealed to me most were the stone walls.

I live in very good quarters and the meals are very good considering, The English money is much different than ours and hard to get used to.

This is just a short letter to let you know I am OK and I will write you very soon and tell you more of England. I am going to write Mary also. I haven’t received any letters yet, but that is no fault of yours. I hope my picture turned out alright and don’t forget to give Mary one. I will put my address below.

Love
Harry
