Marvin is the second oldest of 12 children of Leila Cash Drewes and Martin Drewes, originally from Stettler, Alberta. Marvin moved with his family to a farm at Highvale, Alberta when he was 6 years old, and left the farm when he was 18 to work on construction. He is presently a crane operator in Fort McMurray, Alberta.
