Robot Battle Contest Runner v0.02b by Mark Duller ================================================= Note: There will be better documentation in later versions. RB Version needed: ------------------ Please use Robot Battle version 1.4.0.14 or newer. Program Installation: --------------------- Unzip the contents of this zip file to any location you desire, however, unzipping into its own directory is recommended. Program Usage: -------------- step 1 - Click 'Add' and select a robot, then click 'Open'. Repeat this until all robots are entered that you wish to battle in match #1 step 2 - Change the match setup values to whatever you wish (ie: starting energy, arena dimensions, etc.) step 3 - Click the button 'Next' if you wish to create another match. Repeat steps 1 and 2 to setup the match. You can then use the 'Previous' or 'Next' buttons to view/edit your match setup's. You can also use the 'Remove' button to remove a match you no longer want. IMPORTANT! - Do not leave any matches with zero robots entered into them. This is because an empty load list will be created and RB does not run load lists that have no robots, which means no *.log file will be created. The Contest Runner wont know the match is over, and will wait forever. (since RBCR uses the *.log file(s) to tell that the current match is over) step 4 - Click browse and select a directory/file where the first round directory will be created. (or use the default) step 5 - Now you can click 'Start', find and open the RB exe file, and then sit back and enjoy as all the matches are run automatically! Step 6 - Once all the matches have been run, you can click 'Save Results' to generate a results table that show's all the robots that have fought in the round and their scores. NOTE!!! This options is only for 1on1 contests, so it will work fine if only two robots fight in each match. (but don't use if you run a multibot round, as it will only display the top two highest scoring robots of each match) Questions/Comments: ------------------- If you discover any bugs, or have some ideas, questions, or comments, please feel free to write me at: duller@telusplanet.net Mark Duller 11/22/2002
