Charis Community Child Care

A child care program based upon Christian principles operating out of First Congregational Church. The centre is a non-profit society. The centre is designed to provide flexibility in child care arrangements and to serve a broad age group (0 to 6 years).      The program is designed to:

1. Assist and support parents from the community with high quality child care
2. To prepare children for the transition from home to society
3. Serve as a resource to the community in the field of Early Childhood Education

Services

Charis Community Child Care provides the following services:

• a day care facility for 50 preschool children

• full time care

• limited part-time and drop-in care

• snacks and a hot lunch provided

• parent subsidies are available to qualifying families

• Hours Of Operation
  7:00am to 5:30pm

PHILOSOPHY

Charis Community Child Care is committed to the belief that children are a gift from God and that the early childhood and school age years are the most formative in a person's life. Opportunities to enhance the healthy development of children is a share responsibility between society, communities, and individuals. Charis Community Child Care believes that children are unique individuals with their own potentials for development. Children require a wide variety of opportunities to encourage full development of each child's potential in a loving, caring safe, and stimulating environment.

The six areas of developments enhanced through the medium of play are:

1. Social
2. Intellectual
3. Emotional
4. Creative
5. Physical
6. Spiritual

     Parent involvement in cooperation with the Christian professionals trained in the field of Early Childhood Education is primary to the healthy development of children.
