Laurie Schmidt & Family

I purchased my first boxer in 1981. It wasn't a choice I would have made, as I thought they were homely characters. I got a three year old Champion with an obedience title for a great deal. My older sister actually wanted the dog (I had the money), and I was convinced to get the dog and was going to keep her until my sister paid me back!

Well love hit, and my sister didn't ever get the bitch, but what began as a deal between sisters has now turned into a very different story. What started was a lifetime of love, devotion, and passion for a fabulous breed of dog. Boxers never cease to amuse me to this day.

My first kennel prefix was L.A.'S, under which I owned and bred 6 champions. In 1986 I changed the name to Falconhurst which now has at least 20 champions under that prefix that I have bred, or co-bred.

We strive to have healthy, strong, structurally sound dogs with excellent temperaments. Our boxers are family raised and given the utmost care. We try to choose bitches and dogs that are healthy, structurally sound and to bred to a pedigree that is compatible. When choosing owners for our puppies or our older boxers, we screen very carefully. We try very hard to keep in close contact with the new owners for life. We sell our boxers on a full, good backup program.

Right now we only like to keep four dogs, as this allows room for any that should happen to be returned to us. We only breed a litter about once every 18 months to two years. At present we only have young stock. As you will see we had several "oldies" for a while.
