Arnie, delivered into our lives on August 22,1999, was the third puppy born out of a litter of 11. He was one of nine we had to choose from (one coloured puppy died, and one white was born).

In the beginning, we called him Clyde, but when Don Gordon, the owner of Arnie's sire (Can Ch. Mephisto's War O' The Roses) came to visit, he declared that "Clyde" didn't suit him! Don thought something more "manly" would be suitable, so at five weeks of age, Clyde became "Arnie", named after that manliest of men, Arnold Scwartzenager! As Arnie was a bossy, pushy little puppy, the name suited him to a T!

Arnie was entered in his first show at seven months to see what he would do, and boy did he live up to his name!

The first day brought us a Best of Winners, and Best Puppy In Breed ribbons for a five point win. The second day of showing that weekend, he took another five point Best of Winners, another Best Puppy In Breed, and a Best Puppy In Group! The third day brought us a reserve win.

At seven months, Arnie was a champion by points but needed another judge to qualify for his championship.

His second weekend showing, Arnie "delivered". Earning his championship with style, Arnie took two points, as well as Best Puppy In Breed, Best Puppy In Group, and Best Puppy In Show! We moved him to specials, and he received four more Best Puppy In Breed wins before turning one year of age.

Arnie's third weekend of showing won him Best of Breed, and two Best Puppy In Breed placements.

His fourth weekend out was in August, and Arnie was just shy of a year old. The judge pulled him out for Best of Breed against Canada's best boxer, and to Arnie's credit, it took the judge a long time to decide the winner. Although we didn't win the Breed, it was a thrill to have come that close to winning! Arnie received three Best Puppy In Breed wins that weekend, with his brother
taking the fourth win.

Our boy has had an impressive start already this year, winning three Best Of Breed placements, and one Best Of Opposite Sex ribbon. Arnie will be shown only a few more weekends this year, as he is still young and needs to mature. It is our hope to campaign this fantastic dog next year.

Keep your eye on this young hopeful as he is owner/breeder handled to all of his wins this year and next!

Stay tuned for Arnie's health test results, coming this fall!
