1931 Chevrolet
When I got wind of a '31 chevy I had to have it. When I went to pick it up, I'd wondered if I had made a mistake. It was in pieces and in rough shape but I loaded it anyway and hauled it home, and started the restoration. We purchased some of the wood and built the rest of it. The body had been used for target practise, and had a lot of rust, but what the heck... challenges are more rewarding. When the car was ready for a new engine I installed a 500+ HP motor. You can imagine what happened with all the power. the first set of tires lasted about twenty miles and the boys in blue said " Cool it and take it home" I changed the engine to a 327, putting out 350 HP which is lots since I didn't build the car to race it, and I like my drivers licence. |
