Step into the world of palaeontology, and join us for an exciting badlands hike and fossil lab! Hunt for dinosaurs and other fossils, read the rocks to uncover stories from prehistory, clean and assemble fossil fragments, and enjoy the rugged beauty of the badlands. Suitable for all ages. Expect to be outdoors for two hours or more. Since 1989, this Groundwork classic has introduced thousands of visitors to dinosaur country.

When?
Anytime! Morning, afternoon, or evening. We'll schedule a 3-4 hour timeslot that fits your schedule.

Where?
Meet in our fossil lab, downstairs at the East Coulee "Big " School Museum.

Badlands Science Adventures

For Schools, Scouts, Guides, and other Youth Groups. Explore, discover, and empower...that's our goal when we introduce students to the wonders of dinosaur country. That makes our programs educational... and fun! Our inquiry-oriented program styles ties in well with the new science curriculum. All programs include a guided hike and hands-on lab component. Choose your topic:

When?
Anytime, Easter to Thanksgiving. May, June, and September are the most popular months for schools. Allow 3-4 hours for each program. You set the time and date, but book early to avoid disappointment.

SchoolCamp

For Schools, Scouts, Guides, and Other Youth Groups.
Your group will enjoy the adventure of tipi camping, while exploring the mysteries of dinosaur country. Schoolcamp is a partnership between Dinosaur Country Science Camp and Groundwork.

We'll design a program for you that will excite and delight! Your visitors will experience the best of local natural and cultural resources, while enjoying a diverse and fulfilling getaway. In partnership with other operators, we can bring you: badlands hikes, hands-on palaeontology, fossil lab tours, prairie walks, archaeological site visits, wildlife and wildflowers, birds, river rafting, astronomy, historic site visits, art workshops, local cuisine, and small town hospitality.

Groundwork is affiliated with Dinosaur Country Science Camp. We are widely recognized for our lively program style, which engages visitors of all ages. Our programs foster a respect for fossils and other natural resources. Since 1989, thousands of visitors have uncovered the real nature of badlands with us.
