What Other Camps Are Out There?
Lots! But finding a camp that offers the program you want can be a
challenge. Here are my perspectives on the summer camp
scene:
Camping Associations
Camping Associations are regional bodies that exist to promote the
quality and represent camps in their area.
Membership is optional; their members tend to be the traditional camps.
There is a trend to more nature-based programming
among these camps, and a certain amount is available through many
camps, I believe. Camping associations are good sources of information,
through which one can access many camps.

Science Camps
In Canada, science camps are dominated by indoor lab, technology and
computer programs offered by Universities and Science
Centres. Only a very few others are out there. Here

Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI)
Now why recommend a camp in Oregon? Because they're good! I worked in
their program in 1987, they joined us for a camp in 2001,
and we're talking of more joint ventures in the
future. Their leadership has been stable and strong,
and through continued development they have come to offer a wide variety
of high quality programs. They have been a source of guidance and inspiration
as we have developed here at Dinosaur Country Science Camp.
From my personal experience, I really feel I can
recommend their programs.
