A view of the tipis, our fine accommodation
Dinosaur Country Science Camp is located
in the badlands of Alberta, some of the most lovely scenery in the
world
This photo shows a view of the coulee near our
camp. Look carefully for the tipis in the distance.
The area surrounding the camp has a wide variety of
environments including prairie grasslands
...pocket forests
...and coulees

Research in the pocket forest
Staff are selected for their background in
science, experience with kids and their ability to make science fun.
Most are university students in the sciences.
One of the highlights of our camp is its proximity to
dinosaur bone beds. These campers are excavating one of these beds.
Entomology, or the study of insects, is
one of our fields of research.
Mapping an archaeological site
Using models helps us to understand
sedimentology.
These campers are carrying a large fossil excavated
near the camp.
The river affords a welcome break on a hot day.
Our campers really enjoy themselves.
