Queer As Folk, which presently airs on Showtime in the US and Showcase in Canada, is the North American adaption of the British series of the same name. It tells the continuing story of a 'family of friends who are all gay and dealing with their lives.' In the words of the producers Ron Cowen and Daniel Lipman -- "So as we may have mentioned, yeah, it's all about sex. But it's also about joy. And passion. And friendship. And defiance. And pride. All bursting like some gold glitter bomb over those bare-chested boys dancing in Babylon, that magical, mythical make-believe place where everyone is always young and beautiful."

The shooting schedule is almost over - just another month or so to go. How time flies! There will be a QAF premiere in NYC the first week of April, and one in LA the following week. And look for a new promo to air on Showtime around the time of the premiere date of April 18th.

Finally - some new opening credits for the show? I'm thinking..black and white? With perhaps a rainbow flag throughout every scene for colour? That might be nice.

The show returns to Showcase on Monday, April 19th. It premieres on Showtime the night before - Sunday, April 18th.

Sorry for the lack of updates lately...I hope to get this page more up-to-date shortly. In the meantime, I do know that Robin Thomas (you might know him from Another World if you watched that show in the mid-eighties) has been cast to play Sam, who is a brilliant artist who clashes with Lindsay.

The cast is part of a Vanity Fair cover story about on the proliferation of gay shows in Hollywood. Queer as Folk and its cast are along side other gay-themed shows such as The L Word, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, and Will and Grace. This is quite the honour and great 'buzz' for QAF. It will appear in the December 2003 issue, which goes on sale November 11th, 2003.

Queer As Folk: The Book is now available for purchase. It is published by Simon and Schuster and includes photographs and interviews with the cast. Canadians ordering it from Amazon.ca won't have their books shippped until January, 2004. Other sources in the US have begun shipping copies already. You may want to try Amazon.com, or Barnes and Noble bookstores for an earlier delivery date.

The cast is in Toronto and has begun taping the fourth season of the show. Look for it to air in the spring of 2004.
