28/07/04 - From the Hollywood Reporter: Gale Harold, one of the stars of Showtime's "Queer as Folk," has landed two indie features for his summer hiatus. In "Life on the Ledge," for director Lewis Helfer, Harold plays a suicidal man who falls in love with a stripper. He will then segue to "The Unseen" opposite Steve Harris for writer-director Lisa France. Harold and Harris play former childhood friends who have to face issues being on opposite sides of the racial hotbed in rural Georgia. Harold has consistently used his hiatus to book indie films. His credits include "Rhino Eyes," opposite Michael Pitt, and "Wake," with Martin Landau.

26/07/04 - Particles of Truth will be opening in theatres in NYC at the Village East 12th Street and 2nd Avenue on September 17th. Keep an eye out at that link for a Life on the Ledge web site coming soon as well.

28/06/04 - From Backstage: Lewis Helfer (Jennifer Elster's [Particles of Truth] husband) directed himself in Life on the Ledge, a dark comedy about a man with a death wish. The pic ended its shoot on June 14. Co-starring are Tovah Feldshuh, Mark Blum, Gale Harold, and Daphne Rubin-Vega.

24/06/04 - Although Gale's name is not yet listed on IMDB or the official site of The Unseen, apparently he has a role in this film which is shooting now. His name is, however, listed at the Hollywood Reporter: Cast: Steve Harris, Judah Friedlander, Gale Harold, Catherine Dent, Philip Bloch, Daisy McCrackin.

18/03/04 - Here's something really interesting to look forward to. Madstone Films and Aaron Woodley are giving film students from nine colleges the opportunity to refine their editing skills by working on 50 hours of "Rhinoceros Eyes" footage. Students will also get two original scores, three versions of the film's voiceover and copies of the shooting script to work with. Concurrent with the film's openings, participating schools will show student edits either on campus or at a Madstone theater. Plans also are in the works to feature alternate student edits on the film's eventual DVD release. (Variety David Rooney)

20/02/04 - Here's a new review of Rhinoceros Eyes, and an interview with the director, Aaron Woodley, done last October.

10/1/04 - There are a few pictures here from Showtime's day at the Television Critic's Association in Los Angeles yesterday.

31/12/03 (Happy New Year! - all the best to you and yours in 2004) - From the Gotham Gazette: "Each year, Gotham Gazette asks some bold face New York names to make their predictions for the city in the new year. Of course, we are not Page Six, and so we attract more standard typeface policy wonks than models, actors, or rock stars....": Gale Harold, actor from Showtime TV show "Queer As Folk": "The Republicans will stage a big event at Ground Zero for the 2004 convention in a display of unfortunate opportunism." (t!)

23/12/03 - Some good news for Wake fans. It looks like things are underway to get the film into a wider release. A foreign sales sales company (Echelon) will be responsible for selling the world wide rights at the American Film Market, as well as negotiating cable and North American theatrical release. Please stay tuned for updates.

19/12/03 - Unless there are two trilogies in the works out there called Fathers and Sons, Lauren Graham from Gilmore Girls apparently has a part in the film Gale is in. According to an interview she did this past June, she makes a brief mention of her role, and the film "will probably be out on Showtime in six or seven months or so...". You can access the transcript here - the Fathers and Sons mention is near the bottom of the page. Thanks muchly to dear Tali for the scoopage.

17/12/03 - IMDB has updated their Fathers and Sons information.

05/12/03 - As part of Showtime's (and specifically Robert Greenblatt's) plan to seriously promote/launch Queer As Folk, the cast has been asked to attend Showtime's day at the bi-annual Television Critics Association, otherwise known in the biz as the Press Tour, in Hollywood in early January. This is an important event where all the critics from newspapers and other media (worldwide) come to screen episodes, meet casts and producers, etc., so they will write reviews/give publicity to the shows. Typically this is for new shows or shows that have made major changes, but rumour has it that Mr. Greenblatt believes so strongly in the show that he personally wants to re-familiarize the press with the cast and show. Because the TCA is during the cast's Christmas hiatus/vacation, there is no confirmation on exactly which cast members will be in attendance...stay tuned.

25/11/03 - Something to look forward to for the fans of QAF, as the cast reportedly shot their Season 4 photos and promos this past weekend.

20/11/03 - Congratulations to Blake Gibbons for receiving Best Actor honours, and Henry LeRoy Finch for the Best Director Award at the Queens Spirit Award Ceremony for Wake at the Queens Film Festival.

If you are interested in attending, it is first come - first served at the theatre so it is advised that you get there by 7:00pm at the latest. It would be a good idea to RSVP your intentions to info@austinfilmfestival.com, or call 800-310-3378, so they have an idea of how many they can expect - but it is not necessary to do so. (per Lisa)

03/11/03 - Particles of Truth will be screened at the Milwaukee Film Festival on November 16th at the Oriental Theatre 1 at 7:00pm and again at 9:30pm. Tickets are $8.00.

12/10/03 - Download and save! Sorry for the delay, but I finally had time to do a few clips from the 2nd Street Time episode, 'Smack.' You can find them here, here, and here. (note about the 2nd clip - there is some offensive language but it's such an awesome scene, I wanted everyone to get the chance to see it.) You guys know the drill - WMV, zipped, etc. Enjoy! :-)

06/10/03 - Queer As Folk won Director's Guild of Canada directing trophies for best shortform sound editing (Sue Conley, Mishann Lau and Dale Sheldrake) and best team TV series (Kelly Makin/episode 305). Congratulations.

03/10/03 - I've got a few clips uploaded from the "Gone" episode of Street Time, for your viewing pleasure. WMV zipped, as always. They're here, here, here, and here.

26/09/03 - Particles of Truth will be screened at the Tallgrass Film Festival in Wichita, Kansas on October 5th, and at the Austin Film Festival on October 10th and 15th. Please check the links for further details.

25/09/03 - Here's the promo for the 2nd Street Time episode. As with the first clip, you'll need RealOne Player to watch it and click 'ok' through any pop-up ads.

24/09/03 - Head on over to eBay: "The producers of Showtime Network's popular series Queer As Folk have generously contributed an autographed vintage looking French Connection UK (F.C.U.K) bomber leather Jacket worn on Queer As Folk by Gale Harold to this auction benefitting the ACLU of Southern California. The piece includes a wardrobe tag and poloroid of Gale Harold holding the jacket. It is signed by Gale Harold. The jacket is rust colored and size large. It was worn in season 2, episode 9." (thanks to Barbara for the heads up)

23/09/03 - 36k update! Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about it. If you can wait just a few short weeks, I should have more substantive information as to the release date and ordering procedure for the DVD. Hopefully I'll have a surprise or two to add to the mix. ;-)

23/09/03 - A little more info (and a correction) on the Vanity Fair shoot: Sharon Gless *was* present, along with the rest of the cast. Also, several photos were taken - combinations of cast members from the different shows represented. There is still hope that one of them will make the cover of the issue, which would be great! Oh, and white seems to be a colour of choice where apparel is concerned, at least for one of the shots.

21/09/03 - The October 1st episode of Street Time, featuring Gale, is called "Smack."

19/09/03 - The Vanity Fair shoot was done yesterday in Culver City, with about 36 people involved in the group photo. Also, due to the Oscars airing in February this year, the cover of the Feb '04 issue of VF will most likely be Oscar related. There will still be a terrific feature article on the proliferation of gays in Hollywood, though. For those who have asked, apparently the only QAF cast member who wasn't there was Sharon Gless.

18/09/03 - Scott Lowell has confirmed that "Season 4 [of Queer As Folk] will be 14 episodes and is tentatively scheduled to start March 7, 2004. Definitely March but for now the first Sunday, like last year, is the specific date that's been penciled in for the premiere." (As usual, Showcase will probably follow by about a month for the premiere in Canada) He also mentioned the optimism about a fifth season, as reported here 01/09/03.

18/09/03 - Showtime has updated their site to include video clips of Gale's episode of Street Time, entitled "Gone." For those of us who can't access Showtime, try going here. You'll need RealOne Player to watch it and click 'ok' through any pop-up ads.

14/09/03 - What is Gale's favourite Canadian movie? Click here to find out.(very short WMV clip from Movie Television) Feel free to right-click the link and save it to your hard drive.

14/09/03 - Congratulations to Aaron Woodley: The press corps, which consists of more than 750 international media, voted on the Discovery Award. The recipient of the Discovery Award is Toronto filmmaker Aaron Woodley for RHINOCEROS EYES (USA), a dark fantastical tale about a prop-house employee, Chep (Michael Pitt), who has a loose grip on reality. From the Festival Site.

11/09/03 - New photos from the Toronto Film Festival here and here (about 1/2 down the page). Thanks, Christa!
(For those interested, there are some snappies of Fab from two of his festival appearances here)

08/09/03 - Not his uncle's nephew: An interview with Aaron Woodley at cbc.ca.

08/09/03 - From Variety: Also generating interest is "Rhinoceros Eyes" from helmer Aaron Woodley, who will quickly escape the designation as David Cronenberg's nephew if his first film is any indication.

07/09/03 - PB&A's got Rhinoceros Eyes After Party pictures!

05/09/03 - Updated with hopefully better quality clips, LOL. My cable was nice to me today. Well, nicer anyway. :) Here's the interview, and here's the film clip from Rhinoceros Eyes on the Red Carpet/Festival Schmooze.. (WMV zipped, etc.)

05/09/03 - From cbc.ca: ...And if there's no film from Cronenberg, at least there's one from his nephew, Aaron Woodley, who directed Rhinoceros Eyes. Which, when you think about it, is a gutsy move. If 2003 turns out to be a good festival, people will remember it as the year young Mr. Woodley's career was launched. If it turns out to be a bad year, however, it will go down in history as the year that was so bad, they even showed a film by David Cronenberg's nephew. My money is on the former. (tali!)

From canoe.ca: RHINOCEROS EYES David Cronenberg's nephew, Aaron Woodley, makes his feature directorial debut with an oddity that has insiders buzzing with delight.

From eye.net: **** (four star review) An original black comedy about a delusional young man who'd get along just fine with Donnie Darko, Rhinoceros Eyes is an audacious debut for Toronto filmmaker Aaron Woodley. Chep (Michael Pitt) is a reclusive clerk in a movie prop house who falls for an art director (Paige Turco) who has very unique requests. As he struggles to fill them and win her heart, Chep's fantasy world collides with a real world that often seems just as absurd. The delightful animations and twisted humour recall Tim Burton's early works and the hallucinatory power and overheated sexuality of the climactic sequence confirms that Woodley has learned some lessons from his uncle, David Cronenberg. And the fact that Chep spends much of the film wearing a Tor Johnson mask makes Rhinoceros Eyes just that much cooler. (b!)

04/09/03 - Both Gale and Fab Filippo (his movie Hollywood North is also screening at the Toronto Film Festival) are on the official list of attendees at the festival, released today.

04/09/03 - From the Hollywood Reporter: For Aaron Woodley, filmmaking is a family affair. Woodley, who will see his debut film, "Rhinoceros Eyes," bow at the Toronto International Film Festival, was first inspired to make movies in 1978 when, as a 7-year-old, he visited the Toronto film set of "The Brood," a B-movie directed by his uncle, cult filmmaker David Cronenberg. In describing his first movie, Woodley says: "It's a fantastical tale, sometimes over the top, with comic book overtones; it's very dreamlike and surreal." The Canadian filmmaker makes ample use of stop-motion animation to blur the line between dreams and reality for the film's cast of characters, which includes Michael Pitt (2002's "Murder by Numbers"), Paige Turco (CBS' "The Agency") and Gale Harold (Showtime's "Queer as Folk").

01/09/03 - Some QAF updates for you all: The cast is due back in Toronto on September 22nd to prepare for the first day of filming of Season 4 on September 29th. Wardrobe fittings, welcome dinners, and read-throughs, oh my! (Shave and a haircut? Two bits. heh) Optimism is the word for the likelihood of a fifth season, as the new president of Showtime, Robert Greenblatt, is rumoured to be a big fan of the show. Although nothing is set in stone yet, and official word will not be available for some time to come, cast/crew and fans of the show can have some high hopes for a renewal for another season.

30/08/03 - From the Toronto Star: Let the buzz begin. We asked 28 experts to give us their three top picks for the titles to look out for at the film festival...Piers Handling, festival director: "Rhinoceros Eyes, Aaron Woodley: "Being David Cronenberg's nephew doesn't hurt but this first feature, centring on a youth who works in a prop shop and which mixes fantasy and horror, sounds more than intriguing."

26/08/03 - Rhinoceros Eyes updates from TIFF site: Screening times - Saturday, September 6th at 9:15pm (Cumberland 2) and Tuesday, September 9th at 2:30pm (Uptown 3). Rhinoceros Eyes unfolds in a prop shop, the last stop for the detritus of pop culture. The hero, Chep (Michael Pitt), is a slightly addled orphan who has been adopted by the shop’s belligerent, easily distracted owners – a motley crew who leave Chep alone to fetch the items clients request. Actually, they pretty much leave Chep to do all the work since his comically ferocious boss, Bundy, is fixated on tracking down a bunch of gorillas who roughed him up in a bar. Chep becomes fixated on a stunning art director named Fran (Paige Turco). He’s immediately smitten (perhaps because she seems to have strolled out of the B-movies he’s obsessed with) and doesn’t blink when she asks for a truly bizarre “prop.” Determined to impress her, he becomes increasingly reckless in his pursuit of her weird requests. Unfortunately, Chep has a rather idiosyncratic take on reality: the objects in the shop gradually start to talk to him and, before long, they give him some disturbing advice... >>more on the Rhino Eyes page.

24/08/03 - From gay.com: Gay faves John Mahoney (cranky Martin Crane of "Frasier") and Gale Harold (slutty Brian Kinney of "Queer as Folk") are taking on the new movie "Fathers and Sons." The two actors, along with Bradley Whitford, Samantha Mathis and Kathy Baker, are among the cast of the independent feature about a trio of L.A. families who all live on the same street. The film was shot in three parts by three different directors; Mahoney plays dad to redheaded hottie Ron Eldard in one segment, while Harold portrays a prodigal son in another. Shooting wrapped in August, but there's no word yet on a premiere date.

24/08/03 - Photos...PB&A's got new photos from Uncle Bob!

22/08/03 - An update to the Woodstock Film Festival (27/07/03) showing of Particles of Truth: The screening schedule has been released and is up at their web site. There will be two showings: September 20th (Mountain View) at 5:15pm, and September 21st (Hunter) at 12:30pm. Ticket information is available here.

20/08/03 - Gale's Law and Order episode will be repeated Tuesday, September 2nd at 10:00pm EST on NBC and CTV. (P!)

20/08/03 - The Vanity Fair shoot has been confirmed for September 18th in Los Angeles, with renowned photographer Mark Seliger.

19/08/03 - Great news! Rhinoceros Eyes has been accepted to the 28th Toronto International Film Festival. in the Discovery category. "Toronto filmmaker Aaron Woodley's RHINOCEROS EYES (USA) is a dark fantastical tale of prop-house employee, Chep (Michael Pitt), who has a loose grip on reality." The official schedule for all screenings will be available on August 26, 2003.

18/08/03 - Street Time update: Gale's episodes will air on Wednesday, September 24th, and Wednesday, October 1st at 10:00pm ET/PT on Showtime. (from the Showtime message boards) Get your vcr's ready!

17/08/03 - To respond, in one fell swoop, to many emails I have received regarding the magazine shoot posted below, the cast is indeed scheduled for a photo shoot for Vanity Fair magazine in mid-September in Los Angeles. Unlike the Details/W magazine spread, which was basically advertising/promotion for Showtime, this is a cover story/feature article on the proliferation of gay shows in Hollywood. Queer as Folk and its cast are scheduled to be included with other gay-themed shows such as The L Word, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, and Will and Grace. This is quite the honour and great 'buzz' for QAF. It is scheduled to appear in either the January or February, 2004 issue. I'll let you know as soon as I hear the exact date.

13/08/03 - QAF cast photo shoot rumourville: Word is that the cast may be doing a photo layout for a major, upscale magazine later in the year for a proposed print date of January/February, 2004. The cast is scheduled be part of a compilation piece with stars of other television shows.

13/08/03 - Fathers and Sons update: Hollywood Reporter (page 4) - Fathers and Sons revolves around the intertwined tales of three families who grew up on the same street focusing on the relationship of fathers and sons. The final chapter with (Jared) Rappaport at the helm, follows the homecoming of Elliott (Harold) to his estranged family (Barbara Barrie, Joe Bologna, Lisa Edelstein). As his father dies, Elliott meets and falls in love with a woman (Vinessa Shaw).

09/08/03 - "Those are really cool shades, man." (LOL - cracks me up every time) Click here for the latest 36k clip (WMV zipped file). If you're so inclined, please email your comments to me with 36k2 in the subject line. We'd love to hear what you think. Enjoy! PS - who's the guy with the "really cool shades?" That would be the fantastic Kevin Hunt as Blackie. (wee bit o'cursing in this clip, fyi)

08/08/03 - Great news for all of you dying to see 36K! It will be available for purchase on DVD in the very near future. I'll be updating as more details are worked out. Also, I will be putting up a new clip of the film over the weekend, so keep your eye out for that as well. Thanks to all who have responded so positively to the first clip, we'll be getting Booker, Johnny, Blackie and Jewels for our own collections!

02/08/03 - PB&A has updated her photo collection again. Enjoy! (link changed because of new server...please refresh if link doesn't work...thanks!)

01/08/03 - From the Hollywood Reporter (page 22): "Gale Harold is set to do a two-episode arc on Showtime's cop drama "Street Time," in which he will play a drug-addicted rock star out on parole. After finishing "Fathers and Sons," an independent film trilogy toplined by John Mahoney and Samantha Mathis, Harold will segue into the Street Time role. He will play a Jewish doctor who returns home to help his dying father in a segment directed by Jared Rappaport. Harold, who co-stars on Showtime's "Queer As Folk, " recently filmed the indie features "Rhinoceros Eyes" and "Particles of Truth." He is repped by the Gersh Agency and Suzanne Dewalt Management."

29/07/03 - The latest from The Street: What's going on with Gale Harold? Here's the latest....................He arrives on set tomorrow (Weds., July 30) to begin filming a 2-episode arc where he plays a rock star just out of prison, with a wife that will remind everyone of the Curt Cobain/Courtney Love-fest. He'll be filming for at least 2 weeks. We're working on pictures, etc., so stay tuned. Edited to add (from the same site): if you want a hint about what Gale Harold is going to do for the series, rent the DVD "Performance", starring Mick Jagger..........................Serena Williams and Harold will be on set at the same time during filming - everyone ready for the press stampede? New! Jayne Heitmeyer will be playing the part of Gale's character's wife.

27/07/03 - Particles of Truth will be screened at the Woodstock Film Festival in September.

27/07/03 - Word on the "street" says Gale will begin filming his role on Street Time late next week.

22/07/03 - Fathers and Sons rumourville update: Elliot Parker and his father (played by Joseph Bologna) are at odds; his mother is played by Barbara Barrie (that would be wonderful since she was so great in the L&O episode), and Lisa Edelstein plays Elliot's sister. rumourville part 2: Could Elliot be a married fella?

16/07/03 - PB&A has updated the photo collection here and here. Go! :-)

14/07/03 - The bad news is that Gale had to send his regrets at the last minute the night of the Wake screening at the Maine Film Festival. The good news is he had to be in Los Angeles to take a role in an independant film called Fathers and Sons, which is a "trilogy of sort." Other cast members are said to include Kathy Baker, Barbara Barrie (who was outstanding in the L&O episode Gale appeared in), Joseph Bologna, Lisa Edelstein, Joanna Gleason and John Mahoney. Gale's character? Elliot Parker. What's his story? Stay tuned for more...

03/07/03 - Here's a new WMV clip of an old interview on StarTV at last year's Toronto Film Festival. The usual disclaimers: you need Winzip to download it (it's approximately 3MB) and it's not the best quality in the world, but hey - it's new! It's fun! I hope you enjoy it.

01/07/03 - For those who have access, Gale's latest Redzone interview is up at the Showtime site. For those who don't, you can find it here.

26/06/03 - There are new pictures up at wireimage of Gale, Sharon and Robert at the Hollywood and Broadway Salute to Lesbian and Gay Pride 2003.

26/06/03 - From xtra.ca: The small but visible queer contingent at last week’s annual Much Music Video Awards show seemed more interested that Queer As Folk’s Gale Harold showed up and sported a very sexy beard then dishing about Ashanti’s dress featuring a leopard skin train. Harold, by the way, is currently promoting his new film Particles Of Truth.

25/06/03 - From the NY Daily News: Shirley MacLaine doesn't go anywhere without her dog. The actress is "co-writing" a book - "Out On A Leash" (a play on MacLaine's best-selling "Out on a Limb") - with her terrier, Terry, and is bringing the pooch to City Hall tomorrow. That's where State Democratic Senate leader David Patterson and gay activists will give MacLaine an award for lifetime - or is it lifetimes? - achievement for her work in the gay community. Then it's off to XL in Chelsea with fellow award winners Rob ("Chicago") Marshall, Sharon Gless, Marty Richards, Gale Harold and Robert Gant. And Terry, too.

16/06/03 - WAKE will be screened at the Maine International Film Festival on Saturday, July 12th at 7:00 pm at the Waterville Opera House in Waterville, Maine. Gale, John and Blake are scheduled to appear.

13/06/03 - There are a few new pictures up at wireimage of Gale in Los Angeles at the LA Film Fest. Just type his name in the search box.

09/06/03 - Gale's Celebrity Bookshelf: "I'm reading Jesse James: Last Rebel of the Civil War by T.J. Stiles. It's a complete reevaluation of James. It's great. Oh, and I've also been re-reading [Anthony Burgess'] A Clockwork Orange." (Inside Entertainment, June 2003)

09/06/03 - RedlandsDailyFacts says-- PARTICLES OF TRUTH: Jennifer Elster's debut feature has generated some heat since it screened last month at New York's Tribeca Film Festival. It's an unlikely Manhattan love story between a painter (Elster) and a writer (Gale Harold of "Queer as Folk'), she still carrying the baggage of being raised by drug-addled parents and he a reclusive germophobe who spends hours on end in his BMW SUV. (Gee, wonder which character the Los Angeles audience will relate to more easily?) >>read more

03/06/03 - From PlanetOut.com: Ready to see Brian Kinney kissin' girls? "Queer as Folk's" Gale Harold, who's given Kim Cattrall her only competition in the bedding-men-on-TV department, falls for females in two upcoming films, "Particles of Truth" and "Rhinoceros Eyes." "Particles," which recently premiered at New York's Tribeca Film Festival, is the feature debut of director-slash-star Jennifer Elster. Harold plays her love interest -- that is, if you can call a character who's a recluse and sits in his car a lot a "love interest." "Rhinoceros," still in postproduction, stars Harold as a singing and dancing detective -- and costars "Hedwig and the Angry Inch's" Michael Pitt. Sounds more than a little queer to me.

03/06/03 - WAKE has been accepted to the Maine International Film Festival in Waterville, Maine which is scheduled for July 11-20, 2003. It's my first attempt, so be kind, LOL. I hope it works! Just click on the movie camera you'll find at the link posted above.

01/05/03 - Gale was quoted in the New York Observer in an article about the TriBeCa Film Festival: Particles of Truth, directed by a woman — mirabile dictu! — is about the relationship between a woman dealing with her father’s drug-addled decline and a recluse who spends all his time writing in a car."It’s a nice car," said Queer as Folk actor Gale Harold, who plays the scribe. "I mean, it has really nice wheels and tires and leather seats and a sun-roof."

21/04/03 - I received a snap of Gale on Law & Order: SVU and it is uploaded here. NBC Program Information: Gale's upcoming episode of "Law & Order: SVU" entitled "Perfect" airs May 9 at 10pm Eastern and is loaded with guest stars including Laura Elena Herring ("Willard", "Mulholland Drive"), Barbara Barrie ("Breaking Away", "Barney Miller"), Kimberly Brown ("Bringing Down the House") and a special cross-over appearance by Fred Thompson (NBC's "Law & Order") as District Attorney Arthur Branch. The episode begins when the body of a murdered 14-year-old girl is discovered in a back alley. Detectives Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Stabler (Christopher Meloni) discover the victim was a missing Pennsylvania teenager believed to have been kidnapped eight months earlier. However, when the detectives uncover a link between their victim and a prominent New York physician (Dr. Lang, played by Gale Harold) who specializes in reproduction therapy, they also stumble across a group home for alleged runaway teenaged girls.

15/04/03 - The QAF cast filmed a music video for one of Kristine W.'s songs which will be shown at the Circuit Party that Showtime is sponsoring, as well as on the new CD of music from Season 3. According to 10percent's web site, it will be available on May 20, 2003.

13/04/03 - According to the New York Post, Gale will be making an appearance on NBC's Law &Order:SVU in May. "Queer As Folk" star Gale Harold, who plays Brian Kinney on the Showtime series, has been tapped for an "SVU" episode, "Perfect," airing in May. And Chad Lowe who previously headlined an "SVU" episode, will return to direct the season finale."This will be Gale's prime-time broadcast network debut," says "SVU" executive producer Neal Baer. "We wanted him because we wanted someone who's very charismatic to play a doctor involved in cloning experiments. It's a far departure from what he's played in the past." It airs on both NBC and CTV on Fridays at 10:00pm.

12/04/03 - A couple of new pictures of Gale in Details magazine have been uploaded. You can find them here at the bottom of the page. (edited to add the photographer's link, where there are even more pictures from the Details party - thx B!)

06/04/03 - There is a trailer of Particles of Truth uploaded to their official web site. You'll need Quicktime to view it, and it seems it downloads better in Netscape, so use that browser rather than IE.

30/03/03 - Particles of Truth has been accepted into the TriBeCa Film Festival, which runs in NYC from May 3-11, 2003. Please check their web site for screening and ticket info. (edited to add.. Screening dates are as follows: Thursday May 8th at 9:30 pm; Friday May 9th at 1 pm; Saturday May 10th at noon.)

28/02/03 (Update) - For all you Canadians who wondered if there would be any events to promote the season premiere of QAF on Showcase, rumour has it that there will be a screening of episode 1 and a Q&A with cast members in Toronto on Wednesday, March 19th. There will be a silent auction of QAF merchandise from 6pm - 7pm; the screening of the premiere episode from 7pm - 8pm; and the Q&A with members of the cast from 8pm - 9pm. It will be held at Varsity Cinemas, Manulife Center @ Bay and Bloor. For more information, please go to the Showcase site.

27/02/03 - From Liz Smith's column in today's NYPost:   A GAGGLE of types descended on the Tribeca Grand to join W and Perry Ellis for the third season premiere screening of Showtime's gay soap, "Queer as Folk." Gale Harold, who stars as the series' not-always-likable protagonist, says this off-beat hit is "a work in progress that will never entirely satisfy those who look to it as a reflection of their lives. It can never tell every story completely nor can it be as complex as its critics hope for."Considering the graphic nature of some of "Queer as Folk," Gale was asked about his show's big following among straight females? He shrugged: "Why is that a surprise? A big thing with heterosexual men is watching women together. So maybe our show has discovered some new aspect to female sexuality. Can that be bad?" Gale, who was so effective in last year's off-Broadway offering "Uncle Bob," hopes to do more work in the theater during his TV hiatus. He also has two movies in the can. So playing "gay" doesn't seem to be hurting this good actor.

19/02/03 - Word has it that the cast will be featured in the Ultimate Cable edition of TV Guide (US only). Since the premiere is just a few weeks away, my guess is that it would be in the next issue. Be on the lookout for it.

17/02/03 - A Q&A with Gale has been added to the official Wake site. (scroll down about 2/3 of the way to view)

16/02/03 - A new Wake clip has been uploaded - this one is at the official Wake site, and is in .mov format which is viewable with Quicktime.
