The yellow highlight is the Lawrence Garneau (1840-1921) homestead in Strathcona that later was called the Garneau Estates and then became known as the Garneau District of Edmonton, Alberta.

It is noteworthy he had water front on the Saskatchewan River which was the Metis river crossing for their Red River carts before the ferry was built.  The river was low at this point.

It would appear the lot numbering system is based on claimed settlement dates

Lot #1 = Joseph Herbert, #2 = Malcom Groat #3 = Allen Oman #4 = Donald Ross #5 = A. Patton (later Isaac Simpson) #6 = Methodist Church #7 = Lawrence Garneau alias Gurnow #8 = David McDougall #9 = John Walker #10 = S. Prichard #11 Joseph McDougald #12 = W.S. Robertson & J. McGinn #13 = Thomas A. Anderson # 14 = Donald McLeoud #15 T.A. Anderson & William F. Bowden, etc.
