BCC Update, February, 2004

February is the month of NIRVANA DAY for us Buddhists. I firmly believe the true religion always deals both life and death, not just living aspect. It is important to give our thoughts to death or dying which seems so far and yet so near to us regardless of our ages. Then we can live this human life to the fullest each and everyday.

Young Buddhists (age 15-25), please join Anuual Hongwanji Youth Tour which will be the end of July to Aug. Talk to your local resident minister.

Here is something new program planned by Hongwanji. It is BCC Temple Leaders Seminar in Hongwanji, Kyoto, on Novemver 5, 6, 7th, 2004. Limit is 20 people from Canada. Leaders include present and former officers in the temple, not ministers. We will contact Travel Agent to make a schedule and let you know the detail.

According to Naomi Shikaze, president of Fraser Valley, their fundraising for the temple restoration is going very well, and their members are working hard to finish interior. She hopes New Temple Dedication at their Obon Service in July.
