What's New? Rick & Julie Jackson farm just north of High Praire, which is 2 hours east of Grande Prairie, Alberta. We have a mixed farming operation, which includes hay, cereal grains, as well as purebred Blonde and commercial Blonde-cross cattle. To make the farm even more interesting, we raise Katahdin hair sheep. We currently have a flock of 20 ewes, and find they seem to blend in well with the cattle operation. We have experienced the positive traits the Blonde breed carry, such as: excellent temperaments, easy calving, great maternal traits, and rapid fleshing ability. Calves are born long and slender and start to muscle-up around 5 weeks of age.

updated: September 2002
We maintain a smaller herd of purebreds and strive to achieve quality animals to better suit the needs of the commercial cattle industry and consumer alike.
