This will allow you the opportunity to settle in and unpack. Winter Road Access is usually from the end of December to March depending on the weather (the Peace River needs to be thoroughly frozen). It takes approximately 3 hours to drive in from Fort Vermilion to Fox Lake or one hour from John DíOr Prairie. There are no vehicle restrictions, but it is a good idea to own a truck. Boat It is possible to boat into Fox Lake from Garden River. There is a possibility to barge across the river at Little Red River Landing.
