The Beasts of New York wood engravings were commissioned to accompany the book, Beasts of New York by Jon Evans, published by Porcupine's Quill, 2011. This suite of eleven wood engravings includes a title page and descriptive colophon set and printed by Rollin Milroy at Heavenly Monkey of Vancouver, British Columbia. An original pen and ink drawing on Hahnemuhle paper (8 x 6.5 inches) by Jim is also included (see below). The engravings were printed on Zerkall, the text printed on Arches Wove. Each of the engravings (which are reproduced by photolithography in Evans' book) were printed in editions of 25. These ten complete suites are assembled uniformly from numbers 16 through 25 (with the last two being reserved for the artist's personal use). The sheets are wrapped in a printed chemise of Reg Lissel's handmade paper, and contained in a slipcase with printed spine label.
