| A "cliff-hanger" is a suspenseful situation which comes at the end of a story or movie. It's also used to describe a contest or game with an uncertain winner until near the end. This is a colour wood engraving using the reductive method. The block was engraved first wherever there is white, then the light blue was printed over the whole block. Next the areas of the block which were to be blue were removed and brown was printed from the remaining areas. The final engraving removed areas which were going to remain brown, after which black was printed as the final colour, exposing the brown. |
