"Good night, sleep tight; don't let the bedbugs bite!" is a bed-time greeting, dating back to the time when beds were on frames with a web of ropes supporting the mattress. If the ropes were tight the mattress wouldn't sag and the sleep was more comfortable. As far as the bedbugs go, they were a problem then, and they seem to be returning now, so how does one prevent a bedbug from biting? Muzzle it?
