THE PARTICIPANTS:
This workshop is developed for dancers between the ages of 9 -12. years. Younger dancers
will be considered if they have several years of Ukrainian Dance experience.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:
The purpose of this workshop is to provide participants with dance experience in the
styles of several different regions of Ukrainian dance. As well, Folkdance from Europe and
North America (all sharing some similarities with Ukrainian dance) will be showcased in a
special Saturday morning session. What makes this workshop so unique is that several
different styles of dance are presented by 3 instructors in one week! The
daily classes consist of bar exercises, corner work, information about the regions being
studied, and dances that represent the regions.
THE PARTICIPANTS:
This workshop is open to dancers between the ages of 13 & up. Younger students will be
considered if they already have experience with more than one of the regions presented in
this seminar.
The Instructor
Nathaniel Ostashewski, presently the instructor for the Kryla Ukrainian Dancers of Bonnyville and the Canadian Folk Dance Society, and a secondary school teacher in the Bonnyville area. Mr. Ostashewski has performed across Canada with the Cheremosh dancers and the Canadian Folk Dance Society. He has studied Ukrainian dance for 25 years both in Ukraine and Canada, and has extensive experience teaching Ukrainian dance and character ballet to dancers of all ages.
