Sunday, July 26th was spent enjoying a very pleasant trail ride through the Drayton Valley Riverside Trails, a terrific equine facility. Karen Abel, Stephanie Abel, Elizabeth Younie, Gloria Pitts and, of course, Zoe the Wonder Dog, spent the better part of a sunny, relatively mosquito-free day navigating just a portion of this extensive route. The resident photographer managed (after deliberately getting lost in the dust) a multi-hour photo-trip  of flowers, river, bugs and various fungi. More photos to follow.

Red Deer Summer Classic

June 18-20, 2010

What a great weekend!! Great Rides!! Good Times!!

17 Wins this weekend including:

• Morgan Western Pleasure Stake Winner

• Morgan English Pleasure Stake Winner

• Morgan Hunter Pleasure Stake 2nd place

Starting off the show with a good 3rd in All Breed Hunter Pleasure were DVF Ruby Tuesday and Dakota Ference.  This nice pair continued through the weekend improving with each ride and finished the show with a 2nd in the Morgan Hunter Pleasure Stake.

Taking home the 1st place red in Morgan Junior Horse Western Pleasure was Annie Get Your Gun & Stephanie Abel for Willa Schwab.

A new rider this show, Elizabeth Scholten riding DVF High Chapperall, had a great weekend.  Breaking out of the Novice division in their first show.  Great job!!!

Taking home a 1st place from the AB Hunter Pl Jr Rider class was Heaven Wilson aboard LLM Image Of Thyme.  This talented team also took home the 1st placing in the Hunt Seat Equitation Not To Jump Class, and also had a very impressive pattern in their first equitation class.

Ruben James and Liselle Oliveira had a great ride to win the Morgan Amateur English Pl class.  Crossing over to the Morgan Classic Pl Saddle Open, this eager pair also took home the 1st place ribbon there.  Finishing off the show with the win in Morgan English Pl Stake.

Canabar Cactus Jack and Gloria Pitts put in some good rides to take the red ribbon win in the AB Western Pl Open class.  This masterful pair also were 2nd in the Morgan Western Pl Amateur class, 3rd in the Morgan Western Pleasure - Ladies and 4th in both the All breed Western Pleasure - Senior Ride and Morgan Western Pleasure Open classes.
