Tara (3) with Kandy (4)/3 years old at first show

Kandy has always been a sweetheart, and has never, not even on her first ride, been
spooky.  She is the horse that any nervous rider regardless of  size started
on  because she is so reliable and doesn't spook.  She has been used mostly
english the last three years, other than pleasure riding. She is jumping 2
1/2 feet with ease and confidence.  Higher would be no problem I am sure.
She willingly jumps over logs and what not on the trails.
We live just about the river hills, so do lots of riding there, and even all the way down to the river.  She crosses water without a problem.  She is used to a
variety of ages and abilities riding her.  My youngest rode her last year,
he just turned four and was his first summer really riding on his own.  I am
quite comfortable riding her as well, and I am 5'5"!
I took her to a couple of cutting clinics and the cutting club one winter, but that would have been about 3 years ago now.  She definitely has natural ability there though, and
doesn't get excited or worked up doing it either.  When she was a foal, I
had her mother at a cutting clinic.  While waiting our turn, she was cutting
the cow on the other side of the fence!  The clinician said he wanted to see
her back here when she was older!
With her quiet and steady nature, she took to jumping with ease.  She really rates the rider too.  I had one student this summer who was constently late in getting in a forward seat at the jumps.  Well, Kandy would practically stop, allowing the rider time to
get in position, then jump the jump with ease!  She is just such a smart
girl!  Yet, I can get on her and get her to do flying lead changes on a very
light cue, or leg yielding, you name it.  She is light to the rein and leg
aides, but if the rider on her back is green, and trying to get her to trot
say for their first time, usually they will have to kick her a couple of
times before she will trot 2 or 3 strides and then walk again.  As the
rider's balance improves, she trots for longer and requires less leg until
finally the cue is invisible to onlookers.  If a rider does fall off, she
just stands there and waits.  She is used to saddle bags, back cinch, rain
slickers, bag of cans (trail classes) kids yelling and goofing around, you
name it!
She has been ridden in indoor arenas as well as outdoor and plenty
of different trails!  She is used to a mounting block (pop crate!) which is
used for tacking as well as mounting, so is used to it being moved around
her.  She picks up her feet easily and stands quietly when tied.  She puts
her head down for bridling and haltering.  She is very friendly and always
comes up when you call or are in the pasture.  She has no vices and has had
2 foals.  She is an excellent mother with no problems catching and giving
birth.  At the same time, she is just as good to ride and work with with the
foal around as without, not a nervous anxious type of mother.  I would be
willing to sell her bred to one of our studs, or open.
So, as you can see, she is used to a lot of different things and places! She is offered for sale for $7 500.00 Canadian.
