Kootenai Brown Pioneer Village

In Pincher Creek, Alberta, Canada

Who was Kootenai Brown?

Legendary George "Kootenai" Brown lived the life of a wild and wooly frontiersman in South Western Alberta. He is buried with the remains of his two wives in Waterton National Park. Kootenai is credited as being the main push to have Waterton established as a Park.

Come and visit Kootenai's cabin with its sparse often hand hewn furniture, here in the Kootenai Brown Pioneer Village.

Visit Canadian Frontier Circa 1890. Eleven turn of the century buildings authentically restored and furnished. Over 12,000 artifacts displayed. Informative, entertaining guided heritage programs and events. Refreshing, treed park located along creek-bank walkway. Attractive picnic facilities. New rustic entrance building on Bridge Avenue. Museum gift shop offers historic books, crafts, clothing and collectibles. We look forward to your visit.
