Newest Log Building

New Log building on Bridge Ave., north of Main Street The new 5,308 sq. ft log building represents the first log structure of the new millennium designed to last more than 200 years. It forms the new entrance to the Kootenai Brown Pioneer Village. Here you will find the information/welcome center, the Chamber of Commerce, the gift shop, and the theatre. There are two offices, one kitchen, an upper level storage area, and a large public display area. There is a new climate controlled library/archives and research area .

This single story cross-shaped complex was designed by Cicon Engineering in consultation with the Pincher Creek & District Historical Society & the Alberta Historical Resources Branch of Community Development. The Town of Pincher Creek provided the .69 acre property. Two hundred logs were donated by MD of Pincher Creek #9. The roof shakes were donated by Cowley Forest Products.

Hundreds of volunteer hours including a roof raising helped to keep construction costs down. Residents and past residents of Pincher Creek and area sponsored logs, floor tiles and doors. The building entrances and lavatories are wheel chair accessible.

Rotating displays in this building give reason to return regularly. As you leave the east door to the village, you will be passing through an area designated to be home to the Canadian Pacific Railway exhibit. Follow the curving pathway to the CPR caboose.
