Fishburn School No. 311

Built and registered in 1894, the Fishburn School became the heart of the Fishburn Community located fifteen miles southeast of Pincher Creek. This typical country school house held grades 1 to 8 and classes were held there as late at 1963.

The school maintained a nearly perfect record of the teachers and students who have attended there.

Like many of the other schools in the area, Fishburn School acted as a social, as well as an educational centre for the region, hosting dances and other community events.

Today, photographic records from this school and other schools in the Pincher Creek area are on display in the Fishburn Schoolhouse.
