Welcome to
Kootenai Brown Pioneer VillageIn Pincher Creek, Alberta, Canada |
The Pincher Creek and District Historical Society operates the Kootenai Brown Pioneer Village. The Society offers an innovative, tax deductible series of donor programs through sponsorship.
Mexican floor tiles in the new log building can be sponsored. Each tile with a distictive wildlife track can be sponsored for $100 each. These tracks are; bear, cougar, elk, goose, rabbit, raccoon, wolf or wolverine. Donations of $20 will sponsor blank tiles. All donors receive permanent recognition on a plaque outside the building.
People or corporations are invited to sponsor a door. The exit doors can be sponsored for $3000 each. A donation of $2000 can sponsor the south door. Inside doors can be sponsored for $500 each.
Memorial endowments to the Historical Society will be used for investment purposes.
People may wish to donate outside of any of the above programs and are welcome to do so.
Each of the logs in the new building has a cattle or horse brand burned into
it. Brand owners and past brand owning families contributed $500 to sponsor each
log, and have the historic, authentic brand displayed.
