The Walrond House

The Walrond Ranch (later Waldron) was established in 1883, north of Lundbreck, along the present Highway 22, also known as The Cowboy Trail. Originally over 100,000 acres, it extended 30 miles north of the Oldman River along the Livingstone Range.

The Ranch House was built in 1894, and became the headquarters for the ranch and its several thousand head of cattle. Between 15 and 50 men spent their evenings and ate their meals in this ranch house.

Today the Waldron contains several ranching exhibits, including the histories of many ranches in the Pincher Creek area and a collection of antique saddles. This house is the official home of the Alberta Cowboy Poetry Association.
