We
started raising sheep in 1983 and developed a commercial flock up to 120
suffolk cross ewes. Our present flock of 50 purebred suffolk sheep was purchased
from Susan Hosford (Sudon Suffolks) in 1997. Before Susan decided to go
out of the sheep business she selected and kept the best 50 of her 125 ewes.
The sheep have been selected for prolificacy, mothering and milking ability,
rate of gain and conformation. All sheep have excellent records of production
and performance. In addition to these qualities we are developing a less
leggy sheep with good muscling and loin length by introducing British bloodlines.

We are a member of The Western Suffolk
Sire Reference Association whose aim is through performance testing to improve
the lean meat characteristics of sheep using EPD's.

In the fall of 1999 we used 6 different
rams, all selected for rate of gain, conformation and production. These
rams used for breeding have anywhere from 1/4 to 3/4 British Suffolk bloodlines.
We have replacement ewe and ram lambs for sale by June and usually have
yearling rams available year round.
