The first page of the book could be a self portrait.  The information written on the pages should be kept simple.  Here is an example of a first page.  We talked about the information to include and I wrote it down.  Then we practiced reading the page.  Below are some other ideas to include.

Some other ideas for the book are:

Tracing hands; writing, "This is my right hand.  It has 5 fingers."  Do the same for the left hand (repeating sentences).  End the page by writing; "I have two hands.  I have ten fingers."

Tracing feet could be the next page.  Write about toes and feet.

My favorite colors are another idea.  Write a couple of simple sentences about them.

Draw a picture of your family.  In your writing name the members of your family and where you live.

Draw and write about your favorite toy, sports or games  you like to play.

Another idea could be writing about things you like to do outside.

A page for places you like to go.  A page for your friends.

The Last page of the book can be a fill in page.  Example:
