The Canadian Miniature Hereford Breeders is a loose knit group founded by the breeders of Miniature Herefords here in Alberta.
The group was officially formed on Feb. 26, 2000. It is open to all breeders and enthusiasts of the Miniature Hereford breed all across Canada.

The group meets every 3 to 4 months, hosted by one of the members at the location of their choice. At the meetings, the group decides as a whole, what the next steps are to help the Miniature Herefords move forward in their acceptance as the future of the beef industry. We try to promote the Miniature Hereford in as many venues as possible with past exposure in the Northlands Farm Fair in Edmonton, Alberta and the Calgary Stampede. Future activities include our own Miniature Hereford Show in Darwell, Alberta on June 16, 2001.

As the current President of the Canadian Miniature Hereford Breeders, my goals are:

• to see the formation of an official Association here in Canada
• to have our Miniature Hereford breed officially recognized so that we may be able show them at the larger stock shows along with the other breeds of cattle, as they already do in the United States.
